Does anybody share my feelings of sometimes getting so pissed of at their computer and windows they just want to throw their computer out the window and ask microsoft why they credit themselves the best computer company in the world?

Nope, because the majority of problems can be easily solved by using GOOGLE and by reading manuals! Without MS, the computer world would look very different. I have never had any major problems with my own PC, because I know how it works and essentially HOW to use it RIGHT :P

Yes I do, well... did.
Which is exactly the reason I switched to Linux. And since then I havn't got angry with my computer as I'm never on Windows long enough for it to bother me.

Also, an old friend of mine once threw his computer down the stairs to claim insurance and get a new one. The computer was so old, it needed to be thrown down a second time for it to stop working.

Without MS, the computer world would look very different.
Yeah, better! No viruses, no spyware, oh what joy.

(I'm only kidding)

Virus's are made for windows becuase everyone uses windows, so why target .8% of users when you could target 95%. no matter what OS there would be viruses and spyware, just mainly all on the most popular OS.

To be very technical.. I think I can safely say that MS isn't the best computer company because after all.. they dont make computers. They dont build it, or brand it.. and oh yea, people make computers.. so maybe it's the people's fault.

Sorry, that isn't fully true.
Linux is more secure. A virus wouldn't work unless the user was stupid enough to give it root access, same with trojans.

I was only joking anyway.

hey didnt someone try and create a virus for a mac, and they failed?? i heard that mac offered some amount of money if someone could create a virus. then they recalled it due to security or something

Occasionally I've been scared sh|tless, royally pi$$ed, or almost in tears, but throw it out the window in anger? Not yet. I imagine that day will come sometime, though.

well i do get pissed at the downstairs dell alot, but its not cause of microsoft, the computer just sucks..

I hear ya...my Celeron D, integrated graphix computer I built runs more stable then my Dell with a 3.2 P4, 6800 GTO. And I have no firewall/security scanning thing on my built computer.

Mac and Linux both have there fair share of viruses and malware. Anyone running a Mac who thinks they are secure just because they use OSX is an idiot, you need security. Depening on your environment and distro Linux can be malware targeted too. I know my dad's Unix servers at work are attacked 24/7, but mine at home runs a firewall and that's it. It all depends on your environment I guess.

Anyways, with my new laptop I've had 0 problems. It could play games better with more RAM and a better graphics card, but that's not really a problem with the machine. That's me wanting too much out of a middle of the line performance notebook :P
