Destructive Partitioning

I have a computer with only Windows XP, OpenSource Office, and a flash game, there is about 220 GB of free space. If i were to use the microsoft windows partioner, could a create a couple partitions in the empty space with out losing any of my data?

Try using gparted. It's an open-source program and comes with a live cd.
