device for getting internet in living room

Somebody mentioned it. Said yes its available. i have a laptop and sometime hook up to a video input on the Sony TV. then use a wireless keyboard and mouse. works fine. is there a device / hardware available / wireless so i don't have to hook up the laptop to the video output? I thought it would be neat and convenient to turn on the laptop from the computer room and have the output available on the living room tv.

Yes, you can do it if you are willing to spend the money. The idea has been around for a while. Check out this and this. You will still need some sort of cable from your laptop to the interface.

Edit: It sounds like you would like something like a Media Center PC.
