Device Manager error

Wasn't sure where to post this....

Upgraded our laptop from Vista to Windows 7, did clean install (reformatted etc)... everything went smooth with the install however when I checked the device manager there is one error showing.... it's listed under Other Devices - Base System Device' with the explanation mark symbol. Has no drivers for it.
Under details says PCI Bus 9, device 3, function 2 ????

I have no idea what this is, and if I remember it was showing the same when running Vista. Everything is working fine, is this something I can just ignore then? Or whatever it is where would I get drivers for it? Thanks

have you tried updating the driver online? right click on it, update driver, allow it to search online for the driver

Right click on the device in device manager and click on properties, click on the details tab. Give me the 4 digit vendor and device id numbers. They look like this.

i had the same problem.
all i did was go to google and search my laptop model drivers.
e.g i have an acer travelmate 240.
so on google i searched:
"acer travelmate 240 drivers"

tooke me to the acer website and a list of all the drivers that are available for my laoptop.

you sort of have to guess which on to download though :o

hope this might help

tried the update/search for drivers online... found nothing.

under details nothing is listed... just says under value

Base System Device

thats it, no device no. or anything.

under general is just.....

Base System Device

Device Type: Other devices
Manufacturer: Unknown
Loaction: PCI bus 9, device 3, function 2

The drivers for this device are not installed (Code 28)

You probably need to download the chipset drivers for that specific model of laptop.
