Diablo 3?

Hey, did anyone hear anything about the in-game real currency auction house? Does this mean I can finally make money from playing games?

Anybody have any info?

I've probably read the same stuff you have.

Essentially what I gather is that the auction house will use real cash. You can buy and sell on there but posting an auction will cost a small fee (said to keep people from flooding the AH with crap), and cashing out to get that money in your wallet will also cost you some fee.

The amount of the fee has not been released.

My problem with this is that they charge you to post something, then charge you to cash out. They clearly want to keep the money in the game system. It seems like a double "tax" to hit me twice.

The whole system seems like a money grab to me. They know that it has the potential to be a big money maker. I'd like to see a reduced price of the game as a result, but that won't happen.

Diablo was a very drop heavy game. I don't ever remember having a problem finding a good weapon for my level. I hope they won't reduce the good drops in an attempt to inflate the AH.

I am not a fan of this at all. Frankly, I like going to the auction houses to buy weapons, and personally... if I see the weapon I wish to buy cost $10 or whatever, and then trillions of the in-game currency, it will be a bummer... Hopefully they can counter everyone and their mother trying to make a buck by posting EVERYTHING for real currency, or something.

I'm not sure how Diablo works at all really, but I can't see the AH in it be vastly different from previous games. Hopefully it doesn't kill the AH market for in-game currency. May prevent me from buying it at all if so.

I read they will have two auction houses, one being in game currency, and the other real world currency. Not a fan of the real world currency one as it means people don't have to work as hard in game for the items. Mostly it will be a bunch of kids getting their parents to buy them the good items they don't have the patience to get.

Oh well I, like many others I'm sure, along with my buddy plan to at least make the cost of the game back in the real world auction house ^_^

I wonder how they plan to stabilize the amount of items on each... so that everyone just doesn't toss their stuff on the real money one to make a quick buck... if they manage to keep the game currency AH somehow, I am all for D3. :D
