dialer.exe help

I know if I type dialer.exe in the run box win xp will bring up the Phone Program.

But how do I make a shortcut to it??

It is not in Programs DIR or anywere I camn see???

Right click on your Desktop in any blank area
New > Shortcut
Paste this into the field> C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386\dialer.exe
Next > Finish

You should now have a Dialer shortcut on your Desktop

thanks but

I did what you say and it can't find
C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386\dialer.exe

But if I type dialer.exe in the run box I do get the program.

So it is in windows somewere.

Please do a Windows Search on dialer.exe
Once found, right click on it and send to Desktop create shortcut
You can even use your right mouse button to drag it to Desktop creating a shortcut

It is located at C:\Windows\System32\Dialer.exe in vista and windows 7. May not be there in XP However.

Starngely mine wasn't located there (hence the I386 above)
But who knows I may have uninstalled it from the image a long time ago
Anyway, if all else fails Search will find it ;)

Thanks but

I found it it was in
C:\Program Files\Windows\WinNT

And it was in here and I made a shortcut.

Why is this program in here and not in say the Programs Folder??

Is this like all the programs that are in the Accessorys Folder that they are not Real??

They are utilities, alot of such programs cannot be accessed from the start menus.

That is not a normal folder location
Actually a Google search on: "C:\Program Files\Windows\WinNT" gave 1 hit only. And that was for someone suffering from Malware.

You may want to think about doing a clean install one day ;)

Edit:
Actually I noticed you have made 19 new threads in the past month in Desktop Computers forum
Really that's a lot of new threads that required a lot of varied help with. You even created a new thread 10mins after your last post above (although your English took a dive on that one)
