Hey everyone i have a minor problem that when i turn on my pc every 5 minutes my norton anti-virus keepins popping up saying it has blocked a dialer.generic from my pc!
I have looked for the folders which it scans but i cant find them!
i was wondering if anybody has any tips on how to stop/get rid of it??

cheers

I don't think you have a problem. It stopped it from going into your system. Now as for the Norton pop-up, do you receive it when you are on a certain site?

no, no certain site just comes up on the screen every 5minutes or so..
also if i go into my network connections i have a one called Enter on the list of dial-up connections. I do njot use dial up and never have for some years now so i just delete it. will this have anything to do with it?

Download HJTsetup.exe from this link http://www.thespykiller.co.uk/files/HJTsetup.exe to your desktop.
Doubleclick on the HJTsetup.exe icon on your desktop.
By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Hijack This. Please install it there.
Continue to click "next" in the setup dialogue boxes until you get to the "Select Addition Tasks" dialogue.
Put a check by "Create a desktop icon" then click "Next" again.
Continue to follow the rest of the prompts from there.
At the final dialogue box click "Finish" and it will launch Hijack This.
Click on the "Do a system scan and save a logfile" button. It will scan and the log should open in notepad.
Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log and post it in this thread.

Download SmitfraudFix (by S!Ri) http://siri.urz.free.fr/Fix/SmitfraudFix.zip to your Desktop.
Extract all the files to your Destop. A folder named SmitfraudFix will be created on your Desktop.

Open the SmitfraudFix folder and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
Select option #1 - Search by typing 1 and press Enter
This program will scan large amounts of files on your computer for known patterns so please be patient while it works. When it is done, the results of the scan will be displayed and it will create a log named rapport.txt in the root of your drive, eg: Local Disk C: or partition where your operating system is installed. Post this log also.
