no, those accelerators don't speed the connection up and you are stuck at 8kbs Im afraid. Where do you live, the price of Broadband here isnt much more expensive than dialup.
$10-15 more a month isn't bad, especially if you can triple or quadruple you up/down speed. My old DSL was ~700KB/s down, many mroe times faster than dialup and mor reliable as well.
Dial-up accelerators work to an extent. What they actually do is compress images and text, which makes them load faster, however it reduces the image quality. All it "speeds up" is web page loading. Games, downloads, video streaming, ect will not be effected.
@4W4K3, I really can't afford 15$ more right now (about $25 dollars) otherwise I would have jumped on that a long time ago.
@[-OMEGA-] do you know of any that would work (I don't rallly care about image quality) oh and if I printed the image, would it be of lower quality after the print.
Thanks
Dialup blows big time...it's like waiting for the grass to grow! You can get cheap DSL from sbc right now 768k or something for like $12.95 a month!
If you cant get DSL I would buy 2 fax machine's, one for your house and one for a friends house with cable or dsl, then he can fax you web pages it would be faster than dialup!
DSL isnt worldwide, and there is no price guarantee. Some places can charge more simply based on location, other places don't offer it at all. If that's all that's available, don't tease him about it.
yeahi.m kinda rural so dsl is expensive, along with any other fastish internet. Wait, Arm_pit2? isn't there already an Arm_pit *thinks* hm.
Btw, thanks 4W4K3
