if i keep this current card i can prolly get 2gb of ram, 500gb hdd....uh...since i wont have teh graphic card new price

I'd try to return it if I were you. That is a graphics card oriented towards business users using a workstation. It's for using multiple displays and the like, since alot of work computers are going to have multiple monitors hooked up.

To put it this way, an x1600 card gets smoked by a 7600GT or an x800, which both of those are considered "midrange" cards and cannot play todays games at maximum settings. your card is smoked by the x1600. That card has an x1300 graphics chip on it. If you want to build a work station, that's a start. If you want to play games, you'd best look elsewhere.

That's a good question. You may have to eat it. Or else find somebody to buy it? Or you can use it. It's not powerful, but an X1300 isn't a real slouch, either. You could use it, at least until you get the money to get another graphics card. You could look at it as a "hold-me-over" till you can get a midrange DX10 card or something. Sorry mate. Talk your dad into letting you return it.
