Did I buy the wrong ram?

This is what was listed in my Mobo manual:

*Support for DDR3 2200/1333/1066/800 Mhz memory modules.

I purchased: G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)

The only reason I purchased this particular Gskill ram is because a person on newegg posted under the reviews that "It's almost like this memory was made for this motherboard" (referring to the Gigabyte X58a UD3R.

If it has support for 2200 then it should do 1600.

1) What is the brand of the motherboard?
2) What is the model number of the motherboard?

If we have this information we can tell you what random access memory will work with your motherboard.
