i bought some dvdrw's and i havnt ever used this system before its a LITE-ON COMBO LTC-48161H will they work?

As far as I know thats just a CD-RW/DVD combo drive so no it wont burn DVDs

I searched it and it looked like its CD-RW/DVD-ROM, so you cant burn DVD's.

does you pc reconise it in device manger.
