Did I Do Everything Right?

I just received 8GB of Kingston HyperX RAM which I combined with 4GB of RipjawX 4GB of RAM. Both speeds are at 1600 and I've got it set up in dual channel mode.

I noticed afterwords the voltage for the Hyper was 1.65 and the RipjawX was 1.5. After putting in the sticks I got a 8gb usable thing going on just like I did when I first built the machine. This didn't surprise me so I attemtped to fix like I had before by resetting the BIOS back to default settings. That still didn't work. I also had to change the speed as it defaulted to 1333 (like it had before so it was expected). Anyway got it up to 1600 and it still was having the issue. I set the voltages manually to 1.507 or some weird number like that right around 1.5. Everything is detected correctly now and working fine. Are my voltages okay as well as the speed? Mainly asking if it's okay to have the HyperX undervolted a bit to the same voltage as the RipJawX.

Also, what the heck does voltage even do for the RAM?

Thanks and Merry Christmas (should you celebrate it).

Check memory remapping setting in bios. Also there is a max mem option in msconfig utility under boot tab and advanced options.

I have no memory remapping as that what was suggested to me last time I had this issue. Everything is fine, I'm basically just asking are the settings that I chose okay. I had this exact issue before with new RAM but I didn't have to alter the voltage last time. I did this time since the two sets of RAM have different default voltages.

For the kingston 1.5 is kinda low for a 1.65 default. But if it runs it runs. If it start giving you memory errors jump the voltage to 1.55 and see how it does.

Seems like my 1600mhz hyperX run 1333mhz default too! I need to set both (ripsjaws and hyperX) to 1.550v to get it stable on 1600mhz...
I hate kingston now :D

It's 1600MHZ but some motherboards default it to lower. My ripjaw also defaulted to 1333 even though it's 1600 ram.
