Did i realy need new Psu?

Hey all,

Now this isnt realy important but its something ive been wanting to know.

Some time ago i upgraded my comp in siggy from intergrated graphics to a Radeon 9600 pro AGP.

But i also purchased a cheapo 400W Psu to replace the 250W Hp had put in there.

My question is did i realy need to buy the new Psu or would have the 250W still worked on with the 9600 pro?

Not that im realy bothred,Afterall the Psu was only £20 but still i would like to know.

on the graphics cards box it says it needs a 300Watt Psu minumum

You needed to otherwise you would have been suffering random restarts with the 250 if it even starts on

Yeah, I'd of said you'd need it, especially if what you had was below what it recomeded
