Did I ruin my CPU?

I tried some trial and error and got the computer to work! The problem was the RAM, for some reason if I have anything in DIMM 2, it craps itself and doesn't do anything. So what I did is I put 1 stick in DIMM 1 and the other in DIMM 3. I am still curious about this though. Why would it not post whenever I have something in DIMM 2?

I dont know the reason why, but you should have them in DIMM 3 and 4, otherwise i dont think you will have dual-channel.

Yes I know, I am going to do that but now I have to go to my 5 hour C++ programming class. Thanks alot for the help guys. It's a good thing it was a simple fix.

Tell me how it is when it's done, and how boring it was ;)

yea.. btw if the system beeps, that doesnt mean the cpu is working.
It means it's not completely destroyed and the CPU knows what's wrong with itself (assuming you are getting a CPU beep code from the BIOS) so you can trouble shoot it.
