Did the 1.5v mod to the 7900gt and WOW

I first tried the 1.4v mod on my 7900gt by using a wire and two bobby pins. It raised my 3dmark06 to 5096 at 635/1600. I now did the 1.5v mod, but can't crank it much more than 652. I, however, all of a sudden could crank the memory right up to 1800mhz (coolbits max). Is it possible that the extra voltage was shared with the memory to get this sweet clock?-> because the core speed didn't get better. This boosted my 3dmark06 to 5171 and is making me wonder if I can go higher than 1800mhz.
Is this normal?
