Just bought a used pc and it was listed with a AMD Athlon 3200+ processor. Got it, fired it up and it ended up having a AMD Athlon 2800+ processor? Any big difference between them? Should I go off on the seller?

Thanks, Hoob

I'm pretty sure that the 2800+ has a 166mhz fsb, whereas the 3200+ has a 200mhz fsb. Check your bios and make sure that fsb is set to 200mhz and not 166mhz.

If it really a 2800+ and you was suppose to get 3200+ then

Maybe it just me but I get mad when someone sells me something that they claim one thing and end of being anouther(especially when it wrost). I would demand to get what was promised to you. If the bus speed lower it a pretty big difference. even if it the same and just slightly lower cpu speed It the principle of not letting some one get away with selling you something cheaper then what you should of gotten.

On the other hand, if it IS a 2800+, you might damage it, like I did to my 2600+. :p Just make sure you've got enough cooling.
