Hello,
I have the Nvidia 9800 GTX+ 1GB card.
I recently read in a couple of articles that Nvidia changed the name of this card to GTS 250...
so what drivers should I download?
and is there any difference between these two cards?

thanks a lot

A GTS 250 is a rebranded 9800GTX+, so in short; no difference but the name. Same with the 9800 GT and 8800 GT. Nvidia likes to pull nonsense like that.

So, is it the 9 or 200 series needed?

200, it is a GTS 250 which is on the 200 series chip, just because it is a remarked card doesn't mean the name itself is misleading, it is a 200 series card by name, 200 series card by nature

What don't you understand?

Both cards use the same driver...

I don't know how to explain it any more clearly.

you are over complicating things here mate, just say one or the other and he will be happy :P

just use the 200 series drivers, if tehre is any sort of minimal difference whatever it is you will have more chance of having the perfect drivers for the card

Thus reinforcing the fact that it's not just a "renamed" card.

Well, it is but it isnt. Its a renamed core(G92b-420, same as 9800gtx but different than the 8800gts which used the G92-400(-420 added in the hybrid power and a few other features). But the card itself is shorter and draws slightly less power.
