Difference in RAM speed

So I've considering upgrading my 6gigs of ddr2 800 to ddr2 1200. Though, how much performance increase am I really going to see? I mean, I do game on my pc. anything from world of warcraft to mass effect to black ops. Will the increase in speed make any notable difference?

You won't see a difference. If you were going to replace all of your ram it would be worth it to go up in speed but if you are just adding on to your current ram I would keep it at that what it is now.

My intent was to replace all my ram. I have 6gigs and I don't see any need for more than that, so I was thinking of just getting 6gigs of ddr2 1200.

i would just get 1200. but ddr2 seems to cost more than ddr3 these days...maybe consider updating whole mobo
