I’m at Dell Headquarters in Austin, Texas and I just came across this thread. I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulty. I may have the answer for you. First try hitting Fn-F7 and that may toggle between full and half screen mode.

If that doesn't work boot again and hit F2 while booting to go into the bios and then use Alt-F to restore it back to its factory defaults. Do post back with the results so I'll know it either of those worked or we need to look more.
