Different RAM timings

I have two different sets of memory, one set is 2 x 1GB the other is 2x2GB. Both are rated at 800mhz. The 2x1GB set is g.Skill and the timings are 5-5-5-15 and the 2x2GB set is OCZ SLI with timings at 5-4-4-16. The problem is with both sets in they run at only 667mhz stock and was told it's because the timings are different so they go down in speed to match up. How can I synchronize them so they run at 800mhz stock, and then make it so they stay synchronized when overclocking my processor.

Just leave the setting at default and see what it boots at. Dont know what the default voltage is on the sets. My guess is that it will boot at 800 with 5-5-5-16 timing.

Manually set them in the bios at 800. With 5-5-5-16 timing and the voltage set at the default of the highest set.

So I'd have to unlink the FSB and RAM then? I currently have my CPU overclocked a bit, from 2.4 to 2.5 (FSB is at 1111) and right now the RAM is at 694, so comparitively where should my RAM be at?

It still should be fine. Just make sure the timing is at 5-5-5-16. If you have a problem just bump the voltage up alittle. Like if its a 1.8 try 1.85. We are talking about DDR2 800 here right?

Yeah, I would try 800. Thats not but a few mhz overclock from 800. It should be fine. Like I said, if its not just bump up the voltage alittle.

I bumped it up so it would be at 800mhz after the droop and OC'ed my CPU a bit and everything is running stable. About how much does RAM OC every 100mhz you bump up a processor?
