diffrence

Counter-Strike: Source is basically CS 1.6, but has a new phsyics engine, better graphics, new models/weapons/textures, ect. Maps are basically the same, but in source some things are moved around and more "interactive" objects are there. basically, if you have a decent PC, buy source.

There aren't any "patches", because any time there is a fix or new feature, it's downloaded and installed automatically.
