Digital Camcorder

Hello, I am in the market for a Digital Camcorder and Im not sure what im looking for.

I went to Newegg and then I got stuck..

What specs should I look for?

Whats important and whats not?

What kind of memory should I be looking for?

P.S. This camcorder is for home movies only, not for high definition filming

Looking for something between 400 and 700 dollars

Well I don't know much about camcorders, but I do know that right now, you can get the Mini DV camcorders (the cheapest digital ones I believe), a DVD camcorder, and a built in hard drive camcorder. As for specs, I have no clue, I only have a REALLY cheap mini dv one ($200 cheap).

And if you want to edit it on your computer, just make sure that your computer has a firewire port. And the software that comes with a camcorder is usually really basic. You can always purchase better ones like Premier CS3.
