Dilemma

Guys,

I'm in the middle of setting my home network, I have two of three computers waiting to be connected and at the moment I am trying to get my Thecus N4200Eco storage to connect up, however I have run into a problem (or two), the first is:-
192.168.1.100 times out (taking too long to connect) and has been doing so for the last two days.
2, I don't have the disk that came with the unit.
3, I have downloaded as many files as I can find relating to the N4200Eco but it seems that main file is a ROM file and the recommended program (7Zip amongst others) doesn't work.
4, I have tried contacting Thecus and the only thing they can tell me is to try 192.168.1.100.

At the moment I feel like I'm banging my head against a brick wall so I'm hoping someone in the real world can help.

Any thoughts

Thanks

Are you sure that's the IP address of your NAS? Go into your router and check the routing table for what IP address is assigned to the NAS.

Thanks for your response, Yes, that's the address given in the installation guide:confused:
Should it read the same as the Modems????

Thanks again

No it shouldn't. That would be known as an IP address conflict. Like I said, go into the router and look at the routing table to determine what the IP address is for the NAS.

One thing you can do is log into your current router and look at the DHCP leases. Then plug in your NAS and refresh the page a few times, you should see a new entry being that of your NAS.

Then you should be able to log into it at the address specified and set it up to have a static IP
