DIMM 3 Not reading Ram

Hello guys I currently have a p55-cd53 motherboard with the 4 dimm slots for my ram. It appears the original DIMM Slots that had RAM in them were 1 and 3. It had 2x2gb of systemax ram and I bought 2x2gb Patriot Ram and installed, The computer never registered my 8gbs. As of right now when I had them all in, in bios Ram z DIMM 3 has all N/A but it is reading info off the other 3.Also when on my comuter with the 4 sticks in my computer would just reboot out of no where. I have installed the current Bios Update.
I've been playing around with it, When I have sticks in 1 and 3 it only reads 2bg so I am know using one black and one blue socket to get my 4gb. even with just the 3 that work it reads 4 out of 6gb. I'm just wondering if my motherboard DIMM socket is dead somehow?

and if it is I'm going to be buying some 2v4gb ram. putting them in the offset colored sockets... what that make too much of a difference?

Theres a lot to answer to and i'm just out of ideas. any help would be greatly appeciated.

btw same ram type, switched out ram in sockets, always dimm 3 not reading.

Thanks,

Tim

goto start run 'dxdiag'
what memory size and what operating system does it show.
Is it 64 bit for the operating system?

I'll be away from the computer for a little bit, it is windows 7 64bit, I have the little icon that tells me how much ram the computer has and it says 4gb. and when I click on properties of my computer it always read either the 4 or the 2 depending on which slots I used.
