DirectX Problems

Well I have a big problem on my hands which I can't seem to fix. Whenever I open up a game that requires DirectX to run, I can get into the menu of the game, but once I enter gameplay, the game gets all distorted and freezes up. It also does this with any program that requires DirectX. If anyone has any advice PLEASE HELP!!!!

Try reinstalling DirectX, if you haven't already. Also, try updating your video card drivers, it most likely isn't them but they might be messing up..

I've updated drivers before and reinstalled DirectX. Both don't solve the problem.

This is weird I've installed DirectX 9 multiple times, but under the DirectX Diagnostic Tool it says I still have version 7.

that might be what your video card is.
