Directx10 Pc for 2000? Help me build plz!

Hello all. I would like to build a pc that's Directx10 compatable for around 2,000 -2,200. I was hoping you guys could give me some ideas on a complete build as this is my first time trying to build one myself. If I feel it's too complex I've been thinking I might order it from a gaming pc website and was wondering if you guys had any reccomendations. Thx alot.
 
any 680i motherboard 250$
8800 gtx card x1 540$
E6600 processor 350$
2gb of ram 200$
xp pro for sure ( for now ) 150$? i think

you nearly allways get more for your money if you build. im sure someone on here will point you in the right direction
 
seriously larry, if your building now then do not go for AMD, Intel Core2duo would be the best route to go down undoubtedly. the E6600 simply out performs the fx-62 and for a lower cost.
