directx10?

is it worth it to get a dx10 gpu if you only plan to upgrade to vista64 once it's more stable? (maybe by the end of '08)

also, upon reading another thread i got curious about radeon. what would be comparable to a geforce 7600gt in the radeon series?

X1650XT is comparable to 7600gt

Vista will run fine on 7600GT, you don't need to change your video

1. card will not be directx10.
2. card will not be powerful enough.

Yeah definitely go with the 8800GT. You may even want to consider one with 512mb of video memory.
