Saw this at Tech Report - figured I'd pass it along

he playable demo enables gamers to compete in two of Colin McRae: DiRT 2's events. In the Trailblazer event, players take on the ultimate test of rally car against the challenging Moroccan terrain on a point-to-point track filled with flat-out straights and hair-raising hairpins in the Mitsubishi Eclipse GT. In the second event, gamers compete in a Landrush race at the spectacular Ensenada Port circuit set in Baja California, where players go wheel-to-wheel in an 8-vehicle riotous race over lethal bumps and killer jumps in the heavy duty West Coast Choppers Stuka TT.

Pretty cool game, I agree, finally downloaded it last night and got it to work.

I've never D/L a Demo version of a game like this. I know it's a limited version of the game - will it expire eventually - or will it always be playable from my PC.

< Curious >

Thanks

I should say you will be able to play the demo for as long as you want.....its just those demos with the launch limits that dont allow you to keep playing.

downloading now, hope it runs on my new 1920X1080 23 inch monitor :D

You got the same GPU chip as I do.

I didnt' find a game menu to change resolution - and it took me a minute or two to navigate through the screens b/c the mouse wasn't responding. But eventually figured that I could use the arrow keys to get to the game and control the car.

If you figure out how to get to the game settings let me know.

I just played the demo and it is totally awesome. I couldn't find anywhere to change the graphics so it must do it auto which is sweet because I would probably kill my computer changing the graphics on it lol.

Good game.

I wish I had a vibration steering wheel to control it - but was still cool with the arrows. The second track in the car was a bit more difficult to drive. I wrecked a bunch of cars trying to get through the course.

Did you notice - as your car got banged up - on full damage mode - it effects the driving of the car as you go along in the game. Half way through the game - your wheels won't fully turn in one direction - or your car will pull to one side or the other - and you have to compensate with your driving.

Very realistic game

*IMPORTANT! GRAPHICS!*
to switch the graphics, look right of the "dirt tour" then you go outside and turn to the right to options, then go to graphics :D

i played it and it is pretty fun, a little more loose than NFSS, but i like it :D graphics are nasty! realistic. I gotta look at the controls and get more in depth with it though to understand it :D, it seems like a big game. thanks for the post

Cool, thanks.

Found out I was getting 60 FPS without overclocking my video card ( First time I've seen that feature on one of my games so far ). Also found out about the Brake for power slides.

SWEET!!
