Dirty VGA pins?

At least I think they're called pins..... the part you plug in. Anyway, lately I've been messing around with my VGA card, (applying new thermal grease, etc.) anyway, conviently I had a bottle of rubbing alcohol to clean the pins with afterward in case I might have touched them. But with my recent venture, I was too lazy to clean them and I'm pretty sure I had touched them a few times. Anyway, can casual touching to the pins impede the connection to the mobo?

....well, you know what I mean. (Hopefully....)

Touching them cannot "impede" the connection. I never ever clean anything in my case, and it all works fine.

Well.... I mean the chemicals and the oils found in the skin coating the pin/terminal, kinda like dust on a cd. But, you guys are the experts.....

no the chemicals won't affect the metal on the pins as long as its not wet when you plug it back in of course but i highly doubt you would be here talking with us right now if that was the case

lol well suppose you dry it off well, and fast, and make sure you dont plug it back in until its completely dry, water won't do much :) My cellphones been through the wash a few times and it still works fine.
