I want to disable the ledlights in my computercase. on the button turning on/off the computer there is a blue led light indicating when the computer is turn on. Im not sure if i can physically remove this wire from the motherboard without disabling the button function. I cant remember if it had a seperate wire. Basically I want to be able to turn off all the ledlights attached to the motherboard, also those in the back. is this possible or do i have to crush them, cut the powersupply physically? Its so hard to reach without completly disasambling the entire computer.

Do i go to "Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\DESCRIPTION\System\BIOS" in regedit?

No. According to Google AI:

  1. Enter BIOS: Restart your computer and repeatedly press the Delete key during startup to enter the BIOS setup.
  2. Navigate to Advanced Settings: Once in BIOS, find and navigate to the "Advanced" settings menu. (You might need to press F6 to enter Advanced mode if available).
  3. Find LED Control: Look for options related to "On board Function LED Control" or "RGB Light Control" within the Advanced or Chipset Configuration settings.
  4. Disable the LED: Set the appropriate LED control option to "Off" or "Disable".
  5. Save and Exit: Press F10 to save the changes and exit the BIOS.
I haven't had to do such a thing, so I cannot say it would work for just the power button.

If the mobo is indeed a MSI Z97 Gaming 5, then it's the pin shown in the following diagrams taken from your mobo manual. Pull out the cable that's connected to the highlighted pin and the power LED won't turn on for the computer case.

Yeah... just motherboard shenanigans with computer case pinouts. Not much more I can do if OP can't figure this out. Maybe take a pic of the actual mobo near that JFP1 pins and I can circle the thing to pull out. lol
