Disabling a key

Well, this is particually for my laptop, but it should be the same for most any machine... On my laptop keyboard, I have two \ keys. One in the more common location by the ] key, and another located by the arrow keys. Very weird, huh?

The one by the arrow keys does nothing but get in my way seeing as it's larger than the arrow keys. I'm wondering if there's any software, assuming these keys are somewhat separate, that would allow me to disable this key? My main problem is that I use the arrow keys to scroll around a good bit. However, I tend to miss quite often and hit that key which makes the Find in Page bar come up in Firefox. Seeing as the cursor is in there, I can't scroll without cancling the darn thing!

Any ideas?

Pop the key up and take out the little washer than presses against the board to make it work. That ill stop it :D

You can use a key switching or remapping program that loads up at start up. One off the top of my head is KeyTweak, there are others. You switch a key or disable it.

helmie - I know I could pop the key off, but I kind of like my computer to look good ;P

Laptop - THANKS! :D KeyTweak did the trick, I can even still use the other \ key :) For some reason it would reset when I used the full teach mode, though...oh well.
