Ok im having a hard time erasing my hard dirve to do a fresh install of my OS.

The usual program i use is not working on my new mainboard i installed yesterday.

its suppose to start up when the computer restarts, but it dosnt with this new motherboard, it did with the old mother board. I even made a new disk erase disk while the new board was installed, but still nothing.

How can I easily erase my hard drive/s?

Oh i tried Active Kill Disk last nitgh and this morning when i woke up it said error no operating system... and when tryign to installing the new OS it dosnt do anythign just stays on the error page

Please help

When you put the windows disc in and boot from it. You can delete the partitions (your hard drives) and re partion and format them then install the os and that is how I do it.

yeah iv tried that already, but the xp disc wont run when the computer boots up, nothing does!

I didnt have this problem before with the old mainboard, just this new one (asus).

i installed the new drivers and everything... do i have to do the intial mainboard setup?

oh the actual error i got was " Error loading operating system "

whats does this mean exactly? because this what i cant get by now!!!

usually when booting with a disk in especially a utilities disk of sort it suppose to load when the computer reboots. its not!

i even changed the booting order so my cd/dvd drive runs...it doesd but dosnt load the cd or dvd....

im getting fustrated grrr

well i finally have erased the hard drives now. jsut had to boot in the right sequence.

anyhow, i have xp pro x64 installing at the moment on one hard drive, but on the other id would like to get vista x64 installing. For some reaon the xp installs fine and vista dosnt start even start and says ' Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press any key'

its a retail version same as the xp is!
