ok i just got a new computer and my old one is now going to be used for the family. is there a way to remove everything besides windows components off the hard drive? all its going to be used for is internet and word processing.

Well, you can start by using the Add/Remove feature in the Control Panel.

Then you can start deleting directories you don't need.

At the end you can use a registry cleaner to clean up any mess.
