Disk Boot Failure

My computer wont boot now. I have my 750gig SATA with Windows 7 that I JUST installed 4 days ago, with the "Boot From CD" option in the Bios. It is plugged into SATA1 on my Motherboard. My 250 Gig SATA is formatted with no OS on it, and is plugged into SATA2. Disk Boot Failure. I unplugged all my IDE drives. Before I did that. I had a 40 gig IDE drive that has Vista Ultimate on it and some other random stuff. There is no reason it should be trying to boot from the 40 gig, because the 750gig SATA1 has a perfectly good bootable copy of Windows 7 on it, which I was JUST using. It was working fine 30 minutes ago, and I decided to unplug the IDE. Any ideas? And I missing something in the Bios? I would like it to boot from my SATA, not from my IDE. Its too old and too slow. None of my SATA drives have any jumpers on them. I tried plugging back in my IDE drives and still get no Boot. These are brand new drives that were JUST working 30 minutes ago.

Im not sure how to do that. I tried looking for a section in the BIOS where I can CHOOSE which drive to boot from, and I couldn't find anything. Any idea where in the BIOS I might find it?

Is this a custom built machine or a store bought computer? I need the model of the motherboard if its a custom built or brand and model if its a store bought computer.

It's a Custom Build. The Motherboard is a

MB ASUS M3N-HT Deluxe/HDMI 780A SLI

I just booted from the CD using the Repair and it seems to have fixed the issue. I was able to boot into Windows. However, I am still interested in how to choose which drive to boot from. I am not interested in Dual booting anymore.

Go into the bios and look under the boot menu for hard drive booting you can select what hdd to boot to there.

Well under the boot menu, the only options I have are to select which TYPE of device to boot from. i.e. Hard Disk, CD Rom, Removable, etc...

Ahh I think I see what you are saying. Under Hard Disk Drives, it lists all my Hard Drives and I can order them accordingly. However, I have made another discovery. Even though I have Windows 7 installed on my SATA1 Drive, Windows WILL NOT BOOT, if I dont have my little 40 gig IDE with Windows Vista on it. Is it possible its trying to pull start-up files for Windows 7, off my IDE Drive? If so, why is that when I did a brand new fresh install of WIndows 7, on my SATA1 Drive (I booted from the CD. I did NOT install windows 7 from my IDE drive) Any suggestions?

You say you dual booted correct. It seems you have boot files on the ide drive. You need to do repair install it seems without the ide drive plugged in. Or if its not much work then do another fresh install of the OS.

Alright Ill give it a shot without the IDE plugged in and let you know how it goes. Thanks for all this help. I appreciate it. Now perhaps in the future, I can pass on your knowledge :P
