Disk Defragmenter Question

Hello, today i defraged but during it the whole thing completely closed down.. I went to System Tools to restart it but it didn't work, I got a message after it opened saying that its already running or something like that.

I rebooted and restarted the scan and it started but while it was on Analyze it gave me a message that it can't continue because of a song that was on the computer... I deleted it and nothing more has happened.. My question is why would of it closed down and is there anyway to resolve further problems.

It doesn't usually quit unless it runs into multiple problems, those being that it cant scan particular items because they are in use. The best way to keep from running into this issue, and to defrag your computer is to do it in safe mode.

When your computer starts, you should see a quick screen, saying something like press f8 for setup, etc. Press this key, and you should get an option to enter safe mode. Turn off your screen saver, and run defrag.
