Disk Image Burning for Mac

Hey everybody! So a good while back I made a copy of an old, old cd for my dad and was going to burn it to a new cd so it wouldn't skip.
Somewhere along the line I created a .GI of the disk and that was it. Now I found that file again and I want to burn it to a disk.
The problem is that I don't know which application would do this on a Mac (Running Mountain Lion) anybody have an idea on what I should do from here?

Thanks for such a quick response! However, and maybe I'm just not quite seeing the information right but I don't see anything useful for me in that link you provided.
I just need a free, light-weight application to burn this .GI file to a cd on my Mac.

All I could find out was that you need to convert the GI files first to ISO and then burn that.

Hmmm, yeah thats what I found also.
I guess I'll give it a try on my work computer and convert it there and then burn it on my Mac.
