Disk Read Error

Sometimes when my computer boots up, it gives me an error after the motherboard screen that says "A Disk Read Error Occurred. Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to Restart." So I press Ctrl+Alt+Del and it restarts and boots up fine. What's going on?

Could be a corrupt file in the MBR(Master Boot Record) or a bad sector on your Hard Drive. Run CHKDSK to check your drive.

well, the master boot record doesnt reformat. the log is still there after reformating. If its a bad sector then you might have a messed up HD. If checkdsk doesnt work, you can try to zero it out. Thats really the only way you can delete and reset the boot log. If the problem persists after you zero it out, then you might as well get a new hard drive.

its when you take all the binary number 1 =on a 0 = off and turn them all to 0.... your basically totaly bombing the drive. nothing is one it. empty. fresh clean start. to do this, you might need a cd. like maxstar utilty cd or something of that sort. check it out on google. once you zero it out, reinstall and see if problem persists.. this way you can rule out alot of things.
