display distorted

AMD 2400, display suddently distorted from rectangular to cone shaped and colors seperated. Monitor checks ok. ON board video may be the culpret or possibly a virus. Anyone hear of a virus that causes these symptoms?

Have you tried refreshing by reinstalling or updating the video drivers for the onboard graphics? If you've already done all that then it may be time to get a separate card in since the onboard chip is likely seeing a problem.

Viruses generally toss Windows around and wouldn't be specific to just graphics alone since there are simply too many for one bug. It never hurts to give a drive a good sweep along with seeing some active protection inplace however.
