I swear, if I keep seeing this I'm throwing my 8600 out the damn window...

I'm starting to hate vista and nvidia!

Any solutions? I scour the web and find half a**ed solutions that do NOTHING!

I'm running the latest drivers, and Vista is up to date.

Try reverting back to an earlier driver, you should throw your 8600 out the window, their performance are so lacking. If you want to play any decent games you need at least an 8800GTS.

Thanks for your opinion on my card, but I really don't care. I am looking for solutions for this problem.

Quentin try this download driver cleaner pro from (http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=745 ) and the latest drivers from Nvidia.Follow these steps
1. Uninstall nvidia drivers
2. Boot into safemode with internet and anti-virus off
3. Run driver cleaner pro to remove excess nvidia drivers
4.reboot and install new drivers.

The reason you are turning off the internet is because Vista tries to install a generic driver which interfers with the Nvidia drivers. This info was given to me by a tech at SLi forums and worked on my Pc. Good luck.
