Display problem on my custom built computer

No I think you are misunderstanding.

When this happens, I can't get to a safe mode, I can't see ANYTHING on the screen as SOON as the computer powers on. I can't get into ANYTHING, I have to shut down and do what I said to get it to work.

I am at the same refresh rate I've been at since I built the computer, and all my nvidia drivers are up to date.

Are you waking your computer up from sleep mode - or from a hard start. I'm running Win 7 RC - and had a similar problem waking up from sleep mode. I ended up disabling sleep mode - and the problem went away. My monitors still go into screensaver - but my PC is either on normally - on powersave mode - or off. No sleeping for my PC.

Ok guys, now this problem is getting HORRIBLE.

I am getting a lot of CMOS Checksum errors. Also, now I am getting told that "CPU is unworkable or has been changed". And it RECOGNIZES my CPU and all the settings are the stock defaults that were always on there.

Then, it tells me my keyboard is not connected....and then my mouse and keyboard both wont work. I could NOT get past POST screen because both my mouse and keyboard would not work.

I am thinking motherboard, what about you guys?

Most likely motherboard but could also be the cmos battery. Try the battery first, they are only a couple bucks.

And another thing,

It seems my Crucial Ballistix RAM finally took a shit. I have both seated (2gb), and only 1gb is showing on system info.

I will try the CMOS, and resetting the jumpers tommorow. I have to move so there is no time....

Weird thing is, she is working as I am typing this.

Radio shack has these thingies right? And as far as the settings, I have my MOBO manual and they list all the things...

I really hope it isnt the MOBO, although these Abit boards are being known to go.

Well, I might as well get a new system because of windows 7 and all that new technology. 18 months old computer is like 10 years in this game lol....

And, if it is my MOBO....guys what is a DECENT motherboard that will work with my e4500? I'd like to buy new stuff, but if it isn't broke don't fix it....my computer has been FINE and fast enough for me....I am not a hardcore gamer (I play CS:Source, Killing Floor, and thats about it) I mainly just surf the web, listen to music, etc....
