Display problem

Hello.

I am having trouble with my computer display.
My computer had been restarting at random times
when playing certain games. This was happening for
several months.
The last time it restarted, strange images appeared
on the screen as indicated by the attached images.

A few days before the last restart had occurred,
the control panel on the computer case would make
a few beeping sounds every 20 minutes or so.

Now, when I turn on my computer, this is all I see.

I believe this may be a problem with my video card, but am unsure.

Thank you for any help.

what are your computer specs, looks like your video card. Could be overheating, or dead. But if it works fine untill it starts to get a load when your gaming, then its probably just overheating.

Specs are the following.

Cpu: Amd 64 3500+ Athlon

Motherboard: Asus A8V Deluxe K8T800Pro

Graphics Card: Ati Radeon 9800 Pro

Memory: Corsair ValueSelect 512MB 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400

Power Supply: Mge PSVG-500 VIGOR 500W

Hard Drive: Western Digital Caviar SE WD800JB 80GB 7200 RPM IDE Ultra ATA100

Tried taking out the graphics card and putting it back in again, also you tried using another monitor on your PC?

It looks like when I overclock my graphics card memory too much. Have you been overclocking? Try your card in another system to see if its the same result. It could be your graphics card is locked in an overclocked state. If you can't get it back to stock, then yeah, you have a fried graphics card.

That happened with my laptop GFX. EXACTLY the same problem. Get a household fan and blow it at the case while it's open. See if it happens again. If not, overheating.

I remember there's softwares can watch your card's tempurature and then you can tell if it's "fried" immediately.

If he can't even boot up, it's probably fried ;)

If you CAN get it onto the desktop, run PC Wizard 2008 and look at the GFX temperature.

It seems like your moniter is having some kinda problem may be its damaged ...
There might be one reason also may be your video card is not working ...
