Disposing of a computer

How would one remove information from a computer before disposing of it at a recycling center or do you have to keep all your old computers forever ?

Also, you could think about donating the computer to a nonprofit organization.

Get a really strong magnet and put it over the hard drive a few times and leave the magnet on the hard drive for a day or so....... best way to get rid of data

well you could but i find that thermite does the job better and it so much quicker and loads more fun.

If you that worried about it and dont feel destructive, just take the harddrive out before you take it to the recycler
