This isn't actually for a door, but is the same thing. I have a fish tank and want an email (or some other free notification to my phone) when a water level sensor is activated. Rasberry Pi comes to mind for as far as hardware, but I have no clue how I would get it to do anything useful. Please throw terminology at me so I can figure out what I need to learn to do this.
