DIY Pc vs Asus ROG etc

So thanks to the people on this forum i finally made the decision to get a whole new PC. I will not get a gaming laptop because my budget is limited and the price/quality just isnt enough (i know the mobility is a huge plus and im not trying to mock the laptops, but i think desktops are better choice for me.)

Little background: I got this PC in september 2011. I was more of a console guy back then and knew nothing about computers. I got this pc (which is my first gaming pc) as a birthday present. My parents went to a computer store and told them to build a gaming pc for me. That costed about 1000e and they even gave a decent benq monitor with it. Now, 5years later im gaming alot on pc and this one just isnt powerful enough. Forgive me for the lack of knowledge about my PC because i never really cared about whats inside it until now. I just cleaned it with compressed air and didnt know what the parts even were.

So my question is: Should i buy a complete PC like the Asus ROG G20CB or just pick the parts myself and tell the guys in the shop to assemble it, since i personally dont have any idea how to assemble one correctly. The rog is quite small, which would be a huge plus because sometimes i like to watch netflix or something from a tv that is in another room than my pc currently is. I think i would even be able to take the ROG with me to my friends apartments etc. However is it powerful enough to run newer games like Bf4 etc on high graphics? Will i be able to enjoy constant high fps on games like CSGO, since i have 144hz monitor and i would like to see the difference between it and standard 60hz one.

TL;DR Buying a new computer should i get an preassembled one like the ROG G20CB or pick the parts to the pc myself?

I would tell the guys in the shop to build it, or even better try to build it yourself. No PC with a 6700 and just a 960 should be as expensive as the one you mentioned. And there are very few PC gamers who prefer gaming laptops, most of them like myself prefer PCs. What's your budget for the parts?

You can get mitx if you want it small.
Get a case like Silverstone ravz02 or fractal design node 202

As someone who doesnt know much about computers i greatly thank you for your reply :). My budget for the parts including EVRYTHING would be the same as for the complete set: about 1000euros so roughly about 1100 USD

How is the computer price in finland compare to other europe country? Say Germany? I try to figure out what u can get for €1000
US tech is a lot cheaper than buying in Europe.

Usually, it's better to build your own computer. You should look into parts sources, particularly online parts sources in Finland, or from other countries such as Germany or Ireland which will ship to you in Finland.

If you build yourself, not only will you usually save some money, you'll also get EXACTLY the computer you need.

You should do some research and ask questions and figure out what you will need within the limits of your budget. Some people need the features of an expensive motherboard, some don't. Some people want a high resolution monitor, some don't, some people need 32GB of RAM, some people need only 8... etc etc. Do you want/need an SSD? How much hard drive space do you need. Research is your friend.

Can you afford the following system? Look into it.

I5 4460 (last generation but very cheap these days)
Cheap H97 motherboard that has features you want (research)
2X4GB DDR3 1600
Cheap 120GB SSD
Western Digital Blue 1TB HDD
GTX 1060 or RX 480 (aftermarket cooler, not reference) (if your monitor has GSYNC get the 1060)
Seasonic SSR G-550 power supply
cheap DVD rewriter
Windows 10 Home license

Depending on your current gaming resolution you'll probably be fine just updating the GPU to a GTX1060 or similar. What are your current specs including PSU?
