DNS ERROR, DNS ERROR, DNS ERRORS EVERYWHERE!

Quite literally every other site I go to visit gives me a DNS Server Not Found error, specifically:
Imgur.com
Cincyperformancestore.com
Config.tf

WTH is going on?!

What browser are you using? What happens when you use a different browser? Tried doing a system restore back to when it was working fine?

Are you using your isp supplied DNS servers? If so scrap them and use something like Google public DNS (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4)

This, ISP nameservers are notoriously unreliable.

Also, if your router provides it's own IP as the DNS server you can cut out that dependency as well by referencing 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 directly.

Using Chrome. Never done any system updates so there's nothing to restore from anyways

Honestly I don't know what I'm using and furthermore I don't know how to change it.
Did you try turning it off and back on again (the router)?
Yup. didn't work

Don't need to do any system updates to do a system restore. As long as its been turned on you can do it whenever and its on by default. If your system worked fine yesterday then just do a system restore back to yesterday.

Right click on the network adapter icon on the bottom right, go to adapter properties, right click on your active network adapter, properties, IPv4 config, then manually enter in the DNS servers of 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.

I disabled the restore point creator because it kept eating up all my HDD space

Oh ok. On another unrelated topic can I use this to put a VPN on my PC?

Did you try it immediately after setting the DNS servers? Usually the DNS server settings take a bit to stick, you should at minimum flush your DNS caches. This may not be effective for the few programs which perform DNS caching internally (I think both Firefox and Chrome do), you might be better off restarting the machine.
