Do controllers work in M$ Combat Flight simulator in Vista?

I was asked to look at a pc today that couldn't use the SIDEWINDER PRECISION 2 joystick in M$ combat flight sim, the game itself works fine with keyboard and the joystick shows up in Vista's control panel and calibrates ok etc,

So I tried a different joystick/joypad(logitech) and the same problem occured, however the SIDEWINDER PRECISION 2 works fine in XP

I've tried running in compatability mode for XP SP2 but still no luck!!

I have also searched for a fix/patch but to no avail!!...... any ideas?

^^ I have no idea as I think I have used my Rumblepad in that game before on Vista. Dont quote me but, I think I did it. It was a while ago so I dont remember.

Considering it's a M$ game, I can't see why not either !! HOWEVER.........

I just installed the same disc to XP and the joystick worked straight away without any adjustments/settings required
