jst tryed that well i think i did went in to start>all programs and then up the top it said "windows update" clicked on that and it went on 2 a website asked if i wanted express(recmmended) or custom went 4 express then i gt some thing sayin sorry this cannot be displayed, should i jst keep trying that til it works?
 
That just makes sure you have a legitimate copy of Windows. Basically it just makes sure that only your computer is running the license you're have. So if it detects that another computer uses the same license as you are then it will give a notice that the Windows they're running may be a pirated version and give them instructions on how to buy a real license.

k cheers so it nothing 2 do with my sound problem
do u think i should jst buy a sound card would that work and how much am i looking at spending or should i take it 2 a computer shop see if they can do anything with it?
