Do I have a problem with my ram or is it something else

I get an error like that i.e. "Memory could not be read" around every other time I turn my computer on. Is my ram on the way out or is it something else.

I also find it does not effect me if I drag the error box to the side out of view but if I close it the computer freezes.

Thanks

Jon

This can mean many things from a program being corrupt to a program that is no longer installed still trying to be launched at startup. First try ccleaner and see if that fixes it if not then run msconfig and turn off the unnecessary programs and see if there is anything strange in there that you dont use...

It can mean alot of things, it can be that you have overclocked too far or the timinigs for your RAM are not recognised correctly.

I have not overclocked it, and I have run various cleaning wizards and registry optimizers. Also all the programmes are there, often happens to windows programmes aswell.

Its not happened since the Windows update I recieved yesterday, so fingers crossed it will stay that way and wasa Windows fault.
