Do I have a sound card ?

I just bought a copy of "Dragon" and plugged the two single prong leads from the headset in the front of the computer and it says "No multimedia device or sound card. I assume I plugged them in the right place. There is a green and purple slot on the rear of the computer but they accept a different configuration for a plug, wont take the straight pin type plug. Any help is appreciated

If you hear sound from the pc then you have a sound card. To hear sound in your headphones only plug in the green colored connector into the green port either on the front of the case or on the back of the motherboard. The red/pink connector is for the microphone.
