i installed my video card a few weeks ago, and ever since then my computer has been doing weird things like on start-up, when my cpu is at 100% my monitor will change to 8-bit colors. when i change it back it will only stay liike that for a minute then change back to 8-bit.
since i installed the vid-card, i've also noticed decreasing performance and hotter temperatures. i even saw that the little red light in front of my computer that shows if my computer is processing anything was getting dimmer! could this be from my psu deteriorating???

my 3dmark03 scores have taken a huge hit also, now the best i can get is 6840, from my previous 8954 when i installed the video card

Don't bump after anything less than a day...we don't live here ;)

Does the card have its own power connector? And is it connected?

Do you have the latest drivers? Does this happen when it isn't OCed?

yes it has it's own power connector, it is connected,

i just downloaded drivers, they are working on everything, and it gets a whole h*** of a lot worse when i o\c... to give you an idea, my 3dmark scores drop by 1\4 when o/c'ed... :(

i also know that my psu could be of higher quality, i only have one rail coming out of it :)

Also, see if you can find out what voltages the rails are running at. Check in the BIOS.

well, i can't see what type of psu it is, but when i unplug my video card for testing my performance in stuff like searches gets better, and my responsiveness gets better... so for sure it's the psu?
(and no, i can't just keep the vid card unplugged, it is the only reason i can play all my games)

Ya sounds like its time to get a new psu. You could always check your rails and see if you are getting enough power.

If it doesn't say what kind of PSU on it, it's probably a generic POS. Get a new one, they're not that expensive.
